Bounce, trailing and the crash pause: what a grid’s smart functions do

A plain grid buys and sells at fixed levels. These additions change not “where” but “when”.

Buying on a bounce

A plain rung buys the moment the price touches its level. If the price keeps falling, the buy is under water at once. With bounce buying a rung that reached its level waits: it tracks the low and buys when the price has risen from it by a set percent — 0.5% by default.

The cost: with too large a bounce percent a rung may never get its entry.

Selling with trailing

A plain rung sells exactly at its target. With trailing, a rung that reached its target follows the price up and sells on a pullback — never below the target.

The cost: if the price touched the target and fell straight back in one move, the rung waits for the target again.

A wider step in a wild market

If over the last hour the pair moves more than is usual for it, the steps down widen — up to twice. The grid stretches, and the money does not run out in a few minutes of a hard fall.

The crash pause

On a fall of a set percent within a set time — 5% in an hour by default — the bot stops buying until the price has made no new low for 30 minutes. Selling goes on. The pause does not sell what was already bought.

What these functions do not do

They do not guarantee a better result. In a calm sideways market bounce buying sometimes delays an entry and trailing changes almost nothing. Each function can be switched off; with all of them off, Infinity Grid v2 trades like a plain grid.

A fair comparison is a backtest: one pair, one set of data, two settings.
