Your first bot on real money: what to check before you start
Between “the bot made sense on paper” and “the bot is trading my money” there are a few minutes of preparation. Here they are, in order.
1. The account
- Turn on two-factor protection and save the recovery codes.
- Link Telegram or turn on notifications on your phone: a problem with a bot is better learnt of at once.
2. The exchange key
- Create a separate key on the exchange for Nexora alone.
- Enable reading and spot trading. Do not enable withdrawal: the app will not accept such a key.
- Bind the key to the server’s IP address — the app shows it on the Exchanges screen.
3. The money
- Add up every rung: that is what the bot will tie up in a fall.
- Make sure the exchange account the key works with holds that sum in USDT, and a margin on top.
- Take an amount you can bear to have stuck for weeks.
4. The settings
- Use the settings you saw on paper and in a backtest — with no “last-minute” changes.
- Check that a rung’s amount is above the exchange’s minimum, with a margin.
- Decide beforehand what you will do once every rung has bought.
5. The start
Before your first bot on real funds the app shows a risk warning and asks you to confirm that you accept it. It is not a formality: it lists what no setting protects against — an exchange outage, lost connectivity, sharp market moves.
A grid bot buys its first rung at market the moment it starts, so the first trade appears almost at once.
6. The first days
- Look into History: the bot’s trades should match what you see on the exchange.
- Do not touch the bot’s coins on the exchange by hand: it counts them as its own.
- Do not change the settings after every trade. Let the bot go through both a rise and a fall.
- If something is unclear there is “Stop buying”: the bot stops buying but goes on selling.
What this list does not give you
A profit. It removes mistakes of preparation: a rung that is too small, a key with rights it does not need, an amount “to the last cent”. Where the price will go nobody knows — the bot included.
